I stopped by the local thrift store today and these two were giving me the puppy dog eyes...
so I brought them home!
Best 2$ I ever spent... now to get some film!
(I also found a book that I just purchased at barns and noble for $14... it was sitting on the shelf with a $1.50 price tag... grrrrr.... I am never EVER buying a book brand new EVER again)
haha i was just thinking today, how fun it would be to have a polaroid camera!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the thrift store, dispite whatever my father-in-law thinks of it, I have found some really great things there!
ReplyDeleteI checked at the h&r. no luck. I bet if we look on line there would be somebody that would still sell it.
ReplyDeleteHi! I remember reading a comment that said to "leave good tips". DON'T do that in Italy. Some people actually think it is rude to do that and a lot of places in Europe figure all of that in to their prices. I would read up on it before leaving tips. Also, most people know enough English to take your money:) As far as what you should take, I always say travel light. I even do that with all of our children, and that is a challenge!!! Wear light layers. England is typically cold and wet, year round. Take a light rain jacket, sweater, etc. It will be warming up, but believe me when I say that European weather can be unpredictable. Also, use a money belt and not a big purse. We use a backpack, but just be aware of your surroundings. People really are great, but there are some who aren't. Also, if you plan on walking alot, wear good shoes. And in Europe, you usually walk alot. Public transportation is great, too. Did I say pack light? That way you have room for everything you want to bring back. Maybe take an extra bag that will fit in your luggage. Both Brad and I LOVE Europe. I'm sure it comes from serving missions there, but it is such an amazing place. Have fun!
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by my blog, i am happy you did so i could return the favor....sweet score with the polaroid cameras!!!! good deal too. i'm happy to be a new follower, looking forward to sharing/learning more about your work!

ReplyDeletei just saw a post yesterday about a netherlands company who is selling the film again, apparently it was impossible to find for awhile?
i have a polaroid too from childhood which i will have to pull out again. . .if i can find it lol
thanks for commenting and *click* i'm a follower now! :)
Oddly, I saw a Polaroid One-Step at the thrift store yesterday and I thought about getting it, but didn't because I wasn't sure what the film situation was. I'd sort of heard that another company was going to make it, but I wasn't sure if they were doing it yet, or if it was crazy expensive. So, sadly, I left the polaroid for someone else.
ReplyDeleteFor now though, I have fun Poladroid-ing pictures.
